BHUBANESWAR : In an attempt to make schooling and education joyful in rural Orissa, a set of 10 books that would be dispatched to 45,000 government primary schools was launched here on Saturday. About 2,000 students assembled here to witness the release of books..

The Department of Primary Education in association with the New Delhi based non-government organisation, 'Going To School' (GTS) introduced the book. The GTS has created 10 Going To School books in Oriya with support from global mining giant BHP Billiton. BHP Billiton India Development Foundation, provided support by contributing Rs 39,20,400 towards the production and printing of the 4.5 lakh books for free distribution to school children. GTS director Lisa Haydelauff said, "our vision was to create an imaginative and inspiring media that captured the real life stories of everyday children going to school across India."
