Stop the hype

Those who created the hype around the team have to take the blame. The so-called greats in the team seldom deliver when it really matters.

A batsman who scores 30 runs for the team is better than the one who scores a century for himself. Let us now focus on building a cohesive team.

Tirupati

I feel bad for Tendulkar, Dravid, Ganguly, and Anil Kumble. It is cruel that these gifted men should retire without winning a World Cup. And, these men have been denied the World Cup by us.

They have also been denied a normal life, an environment where they could showcase their skills without fear or pressure. They have been denied a professional cricket administration. Nothing in India will or can reach its potential if civil society continues to function the way it does.

G. Elango,
Coimbatore
