KARAIKAL: Lt. Governor Mukut Mithi distributed 100 permanent houses to the tsunami-affected families at a function at Akkampatti in Karaikal district on Sunday. The SOS Children's Villages of India built these houses at a cost Rs.3 crore. J.N. Kaul, president of the organisation, handed over the keys to the Lt. Governor who in turn distributed to the beneficiaries. Mr. Mukut Mithi said that nearly 2,000 permanent houses had so far been constructed by several non-governmental organisations out of a target of 3,500. Collector K.
