ANANTAPUR: Chairman of Southern Indian Regional Council of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) K.S. Madhava Murthy on Sunday inaugurated the Anantapur Chapter of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) here. Speaking on the occasion he said, CPE would play a vital role in shaping up professionals by imparting up-to-date knowledge on the practice of chartered accountancy. The SIRC would extend all support for conduct of seminars in the local chapter of CPE from time to time, he said. Conduct of seminars and workshops, as part of the CPE was a must for professionals on a regular basis, as they would help practitioners gain necessary practical knowledge in tune with the changes in laws and professional advancements. Practising chartered accountants, particularly youngsters, would immensely benefit by the CPE, he hoped. Later, convener of local CPE D. Harischandra Rama gave a power point presentation on survey under Section 133 of the Income Tax Act. Central council member J. Venkateshwarlu spoke on the 2007-08 Central budget while Rajendra Kumar explained on indirect taxes and Kiran Kumar spoke on e-TDS.
