Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday assured People's Democratic Party (PDP) patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that her party would make all efforts to ensure that the coalition in Jammu and Kashmir functioned smoothly.
The assurance came after the Mufti raised the issue of "problems" of coordination between the two parties with Ms. Gandhi. "There are some problems with coordination in the smooth running of the Government and she has assured me that these would be sorted out," he told reporters.
"If the coalition partners have to take forward the objectives agreed upon under the National Common Minimum Programme, then the problems need to be resolved and we are hopeful of a resolution," the former Chief Minister said.
