HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy is leading a high- level team to US and Singapore from May 6 to 13 to attend the World Agriculture Congress and a host of other functions and attract foreign investment. Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy said he would study the global agriculture scenario and adoption of advanced technologies for the benefit of the farmers of the State. If assured irrigation, quality seed and technical guidance were provided farmer here could stand first not only in the country but the world. Reviewing his weeklong tour along with the Agriculture and Industries Ministers and a team of senior officers, he said it was time for attracting huge investment in agriculture and allied areas, according to an official press release. The team will visit Chicago, St. Louis, San Francisco and Singapore. It will interact with Telugu NRIs in the programmes arranged by Telugus' Association of North America and American Telugus Association in Chicago on Mary 7 and 8. He will also deliver the inaugural address at the World Agriculture Congress at St. Louis on May 8. Later, he will visit the semi- conductor and FAB units and interact with the CEOs of IT/ Semi Conductor companies. On May 10 the team will proceed to Singapore where the Chief Minister will participate in investment promotion programmes and interact with industrialists. The team will comprise Agriculture Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy, IT Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, Advisors K. V. P. Ramachandra Rao, D. A. Somayajulu, Peter Hassan and C. S. Rao, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Jannat Hussain, Additional Secretary M. Pratap, Press Secretary A. Chandrasekhar Reddy, Principal Secretary, Agriculture, C. V. S. K. Sarma and Vice-Chancellor of Agriculture University S. Raghuvardhan Reddy.
