Galloping elephant

The news that India is on a high growth path is spreading far and wide. The Japanese media has projected India as a galloping elephant, said Japan's Ambassador to India Yasukuni Enoki, while addressing business persons in Kochi. Earlier, the Indian economic boom was compared to an elephant. Later, it was referred to as a moving elephant. Now, it was considered a galloping elephant, he said.

China had been the top destination for Japanese investment. It was followed by India. But the saturation in the Chinese market had prompted many investors to focus on India, he added.
