BHUBANESWAR : Here is a reason to rejoice for contemporary artists of the State. They have finally found takers in the international art auction circuits courtesy a camp being organised here by a New Delhi-based art gallery.
For the first time in the State, New Delhi-based internationally operative Krishna Art Gallery has organised an exclusive workshop with 21 contemporary artists at the Jayadev Bhawan. Eminent artist Ajit Keshari Ray inaugurated the camp on Tuesday.
Gallery owner and art promoter Krishna Chandan, who also joined the inaugural session, invited the artists to visit her gallery in New Delhi and put up shows. "A new beginning has been made for contemporary artists of Orissa that will flourish further benefiting the artists," she hoped. Well-known artists Siba Panigrahi, Kasinath Jena and Ramahari Jena also expressed similar opinions.
The artists attending the camp are Dinanath Pathy, Chandramani Biswal, Kasinath Jena, Byomakesh Mohanty, Baladev Maharatha, Ramahari Jena, Siba Panigrahi, Subrat Malick, Lalatendu Rath, Manas Jena, Prativa Das, Veejayant Das, Ashish Gadanayak, Subas Pujahari, Rashmi Rajan Das and Prabir Dalai. The camp will conclude on March 30. Each of the senior artists will be offered Rs.10,000 as participation fee while the youngsters will receive Rs.5000 each, informed coordinator Manas Jena.
