Samajwadi to win over 200 seats: Jayaprada

Staff Reporter

Says weaker section welfare schemes have garnered a solid vote bank for Mulayam Singh

TIRUMALA: Samajwadi Party (SP ) leader and MP Jayaprada on Tuesday categorically stated that the party on itself is poised to win more than 200 seats in its run up to the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Talking to media persons, she said that the developmental activities pursued rigorously by the party in the State shall no doubt fetch more than the expected seats in the ensuing elections.

Exuding confidence over a positive fall-out for the party in the election, she said the Mulayam Singh Government had initiated several welfare schemes in the State for the uplift of weaker sections, particularly for the development of the rural women which in course of time has transformed into a solid vote bank to the party.

In reply to a question, she said that the allegations being levelled against Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadhav by the Congress party leaders are totally baseless and are politically motivated.
