The Rajiv Gruha Kalpa Township has 1,248 units constructed with Rs. 12.90 crores

KADAPA: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy will inaugurate the Rajiv Gruha Kalpa Township of 1,248 houses built with an outlay of Rs. 12.90 crores in April/May, Collector M.T. Krishna Babu has said.

A garments factory would be set up in the township for middle classes, he said after inspecting ongoing construction of houses. A road was being laid to link it to Kadapa-Rajampet highway.

Value of the houses would rise steeply in future as RIMS hospital, Singapore township, regional sports school, Hyderabad Public School, Kendriya Vidyalaya and dental college would come up in the vicinity, he stated.

Bankers had sanctioned loans to 400 housing beneficiaries so far and were urged to grant loans to remaining beneficiaries by April second week, Mr. Krishna Babu said.

Houses would be sanctioned to all eligible beneficiaries, Kadapa Mayor P. Ravindranath Reddy said adding that the township would benefit middle classes. In `Rajiv Swagruham' programme under the second phase of Rajiv Gruha Kalpa, some 3,000 to 4,000 houses would be constructed for middle classes in urban areas, he said.

Government land would be alienated and private land purchased for housing, he said. Underground drainage facility, a school, health centre and a park would come up in Rajiv Gruha Kalpa Township, he said. Sale of applications had begun at e-seva counters and would continue till April 10. A hundred and seventy-nine applications were sold in a day.
