Railway workshop gets ISO certification

CHENNAI: The Railway Electrical Workshop and Workshop Accounts Office received ISO 9001-2000 certification at a brief function held here on Tuesday.

An official release said that Thomas Varghese, General Manager, Southern Railway, received the certificate from the certifying agency.

Mr. Varghese said the ISO certification to the 100-year-old workshop would take its quality management system to international standards.

R. Ramanathan, Additional General Manager; I. Srirama, Chief Electrical Engineer; Ram Mohan, Financial Adviser and Chief Accounts Officer; M. Jeyachandran, Financial Adviser and Chief Accounts Officer/Stores and Works; and S. Sridhar, Chief Electrical Workshop Engineer, participated.
