Hassan celebrates Ramanavami

HASSAN: Sri Ramanavami was celebrated in Hassan and poojas were performed in all Rama temples and devotees distributed kosumbari and panaka to people.

This festival, which comes a week after Ugadi, is in commemoration of the birth of lord Rama. Swami Vivekananda has described Rama as the ideal son, an ideal brother, ideal husband and an ideal father.

Temple visit

Devotees visit the Rama temple in the morning and after offering prayers, they fast for the day. They take fruits, sweet water (panaka) and kosumbari (wet grains).
