KOLLAM: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has allocated a grant of Rs.60 lakh to the Sasthamcotta Devaswom Board College (D.B. College) for the construction of a women's hostel. College Principal B. Janardhanan Pillai said a formal communication in this regard from the UGC was received on Monday. He said the UGC also allocated Rs.4 lakh for a major research project and Rs.1 lakh each for five mini research projects.
