KOLLAM: S.S. Shet, chairman of North Malabar Gramin Bank (NMGB), has said the bank will have 15 branches in the district within the next two years. He was talking to presspersons after inaugurating the bank's first branch in the district at Kadappakada on Monday. — Staff Reporter

ALAPPUZHA: The Madras Regiment, which is collecting details on all the World War II veterans who were part of the Regiment, has requested ex-servicemen who participated in the War from the Regiment or their relatives/widows to furnish the details at the District Sainik Welfare office on or before April 20. College Day

KASARAGOD: Congress leader V.M. Sudheeran will inaugurate the College Day 2006-07 of Kasaragod Government College on Wednesday. Film star Anoop Chandran will be the chief guest at the function. A send-off to teachers and other employees who retire from the college this academic year will also be held on the occasion.
