Thousands witness celestial wedding

Elaborate arrangements made for devotees

AUSPICIOUS DAY: Sitarama kalyanam being performed in Rajahmundry on Tuesday.

VIZIANAGARAM: The celestial wedding of Sri Rama with His consort Sita was performed in a befitting manner at Ramatheerthalu temple in Nellimarla mandal, near here, on Tuesday. Thousands of devotees from the north coastal Andhra districts witnessed the `kalyanotsavam' and offered prayers at the temple.

The Endowments Department made elaborate arrangements to meet the rush. It also arranged free `prasadam' and water to devotees.

The State Road Transport Corporation operated special services from depots in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts. Bobbili Lok Sabha member B. Jhansi Lakshmi offered silk clothes. Many district officials and elected representatives participated in the celebrations.
