Sarpanch killed in accident

KADAPA: Sarpanch of Chiyyavaram in Railway Kodur mandal M. Rajasekhara Reddy (50) was killed and two others, including his brother Sridhar Reddy, sustained severe injuries when their jeep rammed into a stationary tractor near Cherlopalle in Vontimitta mandal on Monday evening.

Sridhar Reddy was rushed to hospital to Chennai and jeep driver Subramanyam was admitted to RIMS hospital here, police said. Vontimitta police registered a case.

In another accident, Mopuri Sudhakar Reddy (45) and an autorickshaw driver Yerragudipalle Sekhar died and B. Chandrasekhar was severely injured when the auto hit a lorry at Chinnarangapuram near Pulivendula. Sudhakar Reddy died instantly and Sekhar succumbed to injuries at Nandalur while being rushed to hospital at Tirupati, according to Pulivendula SI Ananda Rao.
