KADAPA: Kadapa District Private Electrical Workers' Association on Tuesday alleged that CPI(M) functionaries had put up red flags and encroached upon 108 house sites allotted to its members at Gurivireddikunta in Chinna Chowk here. The Collector had allotted house sites of three cents each to private electrical workers on 5.40 acres in survey Nos. 354/1 and 2, 356 and 357 in Chinna Chowk a few years ago, president of the association G. Venkatasubbaiah and secretary Sk. Altaf Basha said in a memorandum to the Collector. The beneficiaries constructed basements by spending Rs. 20,000 each, but the CPI(M) forcibly occupied the lands and were selling away the house sites to others, they alleged.
Court injunction
Stating that IV Additional Junior Civil Judge A. Veeraiah had given permanent injunction on February 26, 2004, restraining the CPI(M) activists from interfering with possession of the suite, they sought protection of their house sites. The judge ordered that CPI(M) district secretary B. Narayana, and party leaders K. Anjaneyulu, Sudhakar and S. Magbool Basha pay institutional costs of the suit to the plaintiff. The association leaders enclosed the court orders with the memoranda to the Collector, SP, Kadapa Mayor, Municipal Commissioner, RDO, MRO and police.
