Forest staff go on mass leave

KORAPUT: All foresters and forest guards of Koraput district have gone on a mass leave in protest against the indifferent attitude of the DFO of Koraput towards their demands . The Non Gazeted Forest Service Association said this at the press meet held at Koraput today . Duryodhan Patro, president of the association, said the association had demanded withdrawal of suspension orders on the foresters and forest guards of Laxmipur who were suspended for not taking action against the tribals who had been cultivating in forest land. But the administration did not heed to their demands and hence as per the notice given earlier, the members went on an indefinite mass leave.

Members from Nowrangpur , Rayagada and Malkangir districts too have joined to support their demands, he said . They too have threatened to go on mass leave
