Ram Navami celebrated with gaiety in State

BHUBANESWAR: Thousands of devotees thronged different Ram temples across the state on occasion of Ram Navami celebration on Tuesday.

Most Ram temples in the State were decorated and idols of Lord Ram, His consort Sita and Lakshman were richly adorned.

In Bhubaneswar, the Ram Temple premises on Janpath got filled up with devotees since morning. In other parts of the city, public gathering and satsangs marked the day.

The day being a holiday, thousands devotees thronged the temple throughout the day to worship the deities. As the crowd swelled in at the temple towards the evening, police had a tough time in controlling the situation. The roads leading to the Ram temple witnessed traffic jams in the afternoon causing inconvenience to the public.

Long queues

In Bhadrak the police kept a close eye on Ram Navami celebration as the place was considered sensitive. People were seen in long queues before the Ram Temple. Sriram Mahayagna Samiti of Bharak town organised different programmes to mark the day.

In Nayagarh, Ram Navami was celebrated with full of gaiety and fervour in Raghunathjiu Temple at Odagaon.

Police had made elaborate security arrangements around different temples in the State to prevent any untoward incident. There was no report of any law and order situation.
