AAI official inspects land for airport near Bijapur

BIJAPUR: Airports Authority of India official Bhaskar Rao on Tuesday inspected the site of proposed airport at Madbhavi village near here.

Mr. Rao, who came to study the technical feasibility of the site, told presspersons here that he would give his report to the authority within a week.

However, Mr. Rao refused to divulge his impression of the site.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mohsin said the Government had released Rs. 5.5 crore for land acquisition. Around 500 acres of government land was available and 600 acres of private land was yet to be acquired.
