Delhi University exams from April 10

NEW DELHI: The annual examinations for various undergraduate courses of Delhi University for students of the regular stream (Category A) will begin on April 10 and end on June 8.

For students of the non-formal stream (Category B), the examinations are likely to begin in the middle of May. The detailed schedule will be notified on www.du.ac.in on March 29.

Seminar on management

NEW DELHI : The Institute of Company Secretaries of India is organising a national seminar on "Corporate compliance management" at Hotel Le Meridien here this Thursday.

The seminar will be inaugurated by the Secretary in the Union Ministry of Company Affairs, Anurag Goel. Company secretaries and corporate professionals from across the country will attend the seminar.

Water supply to be affected

NEW DELHI: Because of major repair works, there will be no water supply on Wednesday evening at Gole Market, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Lady Hardinge Medical College, Connaught Place, Parliament House, Ministers'/ MPs' bungalows North/South of Rajpath, North Avenue and South Avenue, besides Chanakyapuri, Diplomatic Enclave, Vinay Marg, Yashwant Place, Sarojini Nagar and AIIMS here in the Capital.

Water supply will also be at low pressure on Thursday morning in these areas. Water saved in boosting stations will be supplied to residents of these areas. People can contact 23360683 and 23743642 for tankers.

South Indian Samaj marks Ram Navami

NEW DELHI: South Indian Samaj, Sarojini Nagar, celebrated Ram Navami on Tuesday by performing poojas and laksharchana to Lord Ram. The Samaj has been celebration Ram Navami for the past 50 years. This year besides laksharchana there will be Sudarsana Homam on April 7 and Sita Kalyanam and Anjaneya Utsavam on April 8. There will be a 10-day discourse on Ramayanam by Nagai Mukundan.

Sentenced

NEW DELHI: A Delhi court has sentenced two persons to five years' rigorous imprisonment each for robbing a Delhi-based businessman four years ago.

The court also slapped a fine of Rs 2,000 each on the convicts, apart from imprisonment.

Court discharged their close associate Satpal due to lack of evidence.
