MANGALORE: The Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy will organise a two-day seminar on "Scope for research on topics in coastal area" at the University College here from Thursday, according to M.K. Seetharama Kulal, president of the academy. He told presspersons here on Tuesday that the resource persons at the seminar would speak on subjects related to folklore, literature and women. K.M. Kaveriappa, Vice-Chancellor, Mangalore University, will inaugurate the seminar. The academy in association with Tulu Utsava Samithi, Kasaragod, would organise a function to give away "Kasaragod Tulu Utsava Samithi Datti Nidhi" prizes at Kumble in Kerala, on March 31, Mr. Kulal, said. A "Kavi gosthi" and a lecture by P.N. Moodithhaya, retired principal, on "What students could contribute for sustaining Tulu culture" will be organised. The first and second prizes would be given away to Pranay K. of Badiyadkka and Shweta S. of Uppala, respectively, he said. The function will be held at Gokul Hall near Vivekananda Circle.
