Bangalore: The Indian Institutes of Management in Bangalore and Indore on Tuesday hiked their fees for the postgraduate programme and the IIM-Ahmedabad is likely to follow suit after its board meeting on March 31. The IIM-Bangalore raised the fee by Rs. 75,000 to Rs. 2.5 lakh, while the IIM-Indore hiked it from Rs. 1.5 lakh to Rs. 1.9 lakh from the coming academic session. The IIM-Bangalore director Prakash G. Apte justified the move, saying students earn between Rs. 8 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh a year after the programme and could easily afford the increase. The IIM-Indore director S.P. Parashar said: "Our board meeting decided on March 24 to hike the fee of the flagship PGP course to Rs. 1.9 lakh and to raise the total intake to 195." IIM-Ahmedabad director Bakul Dholakia said, "Any decision on fee hike will be taken up in our board meeting on March 31."
