In response to the Public Eye feature on summer and power, Shaloo Malini says in her email: "It was nice to know how to save power and water. Slim fluorescent lamp tubes which consume less power are expensive. If we go for branded ones, they cost Rs. 90 or more a piece. Unbranded ones cost Rs. 30 but quality is not assured. How can a family with average income afford such costly tubes?"

In response to an earlier feature, Swaminathan N. says: "The new footpaths on Koramangala's Inner Ring Road (Opposite BDA Complex) are narrow as the huge trees in between block passage. The footpath should have been built with some buffer area around the trees so that pedestrians can walk without having to come on the road, as that can be dangerous. Pedestrian safety has not been taken into consideration at all."
