Order in Amitabh case put off to April 4

PANAJI: North Goa District and Sessions Judge Anuja Prabhudesai on Wednesday deferred to April 4 an order in a case in which Amitabh Bachchan, among others, is accused of violating provisions of anti - tobacco legislation.

The case pertains to some publicity hoardings along the national highway in Goa, which showed Mr. Bachchan smoking a cigar. The National Organisation for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE) had accused the star of violating the Cigarettes and other Tobacco Products Act. Mr. Bachchan stated that he had taken note of the Legislation and had asked his producers to take immediate steps to ensure that no violations took place.
