RGUHS scam: action promised

BANGALORE:
Medical Education Minister V.S. Acharya on Wednesday told the Legislative Council that there was no question of protecting the guilty in the marksscandal of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
Replying to BJP member Shashil G. Namoshi during the Zero Hour, the Minister said action would be taken against the guilty based on the report by the Central Bureau of Investigation which has conducted an inquiry.
Dr. Acharya said the Government would also order an inquiry into the episode in which activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat had been allegedly assaulted by "goondas."
Earlier, Mr. Namoshi had said that "goondas" had assaulted the ABVP activists who were staging a peaceful protest.
