Elected to Lions Club

KARIMNAGAR: Kola Anna Reddy, Badruddin Khimani and Sriramula Srinivas have been unanimously elected as president, secretary and treasurer respectively of the Lions of Club of Karimnagar for the year 2007-08, according to a press note here on Wednesday.-Staff Reporter

Toll-free call centre

KARIMNAGAR: In order to check the high incidence of crime against women and also child marriages in the district, the administration had launched a toll-free call centre for the benefit of women self-help group members.

Collector M V Satyanarayana had formally launched the toll free call centre number 1800 4258781 and land line number 0878-2262232. He appealed to the women SHG members to utilise the toll free telephone number to lodge complaints.

Police PRO's appointment

KADAPA: The Police Department will appoint a PRO on contract basis with a monthly consolidated pay of Rs. 5,000 through outsourcing, Kadapa Superintendent of Police P Y. Nagi Reddy said on Wednesday.

Experienced journalists and candidates possessing diploma or PG diploma in journalism would be preferred, he said in a statement. Voluntary organisations, registered under Contract Labour Act, can send applications of candidates to his office by April 7. — Staff Reporter

KADAPA: MLC-elect of Telugu Desam Party M. Venkatasiva Reddy has promised to strive for grant of unemployed allowance for jobless youth.

Two killed in road accident

Srikakulam: Two persons, including the driver of the tractor, died on the spot, one sustained injuries, when it turned turtle at near Singupuram village, about 20 km from here on Wednesday evening. The accident occurred when the driver was negotiating a steep curve. Special Correspondent
