TDP councillor threatens suicide

Staff Reporter

In protest against inaction for producing work orders

TENALI : Telugu Desam Party Councillor M. Chitti Babu, representing Ward 10, created a flutter at the general body meeting of the Municipal Council on Wednesday, when he threatened to commit suicide in protest against what he called official inaction to his demand for producing work orders.

He alleged that the officials were keeping him in dark about various works being carried out in his ward. Councillors, belonging to both Congress and TDP, supported the councillor and demanded that the officials produce all relevant work orders at the council meeting. Amid the din, Chairperson Tadiboyina Mastanamma directed the officials to produce work orders.

Complaints galore

The council witnessed acrimonious scenes with members cutting across party lines targeting the officials for their lackadaisical approach towards solving civic grievances.
