MADURAI: The Southern Railway will operate special trains to Palani and extend some of its services in view of Panguni Uthiram festival. According to a Southern Railway press release, the 771 Podanur-Dindigul passenger will be extended to Madurai on March 31. It will leave Dindigul at 11.20 p.m. and reach Madurai at 1.05 a.m. The 772 Dindigul-Podanur passenger will leave Madurai at 3.15 a.m. on April 2 and reach Dindigul at 4.35 a.m. It will follow the regular timings between Dindigul and Podanur. These trains will stop at Ambaturai, Kodaikanal Road and Sholavandan.
The Madurai-Palani passenger special will leave Madurai at 6.30 a.m. on April 1 and reach Palani at 9.15 a.m. The Palani-Madurai passenger special will leave Palani at 4.40 p.m. on April 1 and reach Madurai at 7.30 p.m. The trains will halt at Sholavandan, Kodaikanal Road, Ambaturai, Dindigul and Oddanchatram. The Palani-Palghat passenger special will leave Palani at 9.30 a.m. on April 1 and reach Palghat at 12.45 p.m. The Palghat-Palani special will leave Palghat at 1.05 p.m. on April 1 and reach Palani at 4.30 p.m. The trains will stop at Maivadi Road, Udamalpet, Gomangalam, Pollachi, Anamalai Road, Meenakshipuram, Muthalamada, Kollengode, Vadakannikapuram, Pudunagaram and Palghat Town. The Madurai-Palani passenger special will leave Madurai at 9.30 a.m. on April 2 and reach Palani at 12.30 p.m. The Palani-Madurai special will leave Palani at 1.30 p.m. on April 2 and reach Madurai at 4.30 p.m. The trains will halt at Sholavandan, Kodaikanal Road, Ambaturai, Dindigul and Oddanchatram. The Pollachi-Palani passenger specials will leave Pollachi at 8.35 p.m. on March 31, April 1, 2 and 3 and reach Palani at 10 p.m. The Palani-Pollachi specials will leave Palani at 5.30 a.m. on April 1, 2 and 3 and reach Pollachi at 7 a.m. These trains will stop at Udamalpet and Maivadi Road. The composition of the specials will be 7 general second class coaches, 2 general second class-cum-luggage vans.
