NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a charge sheet against four persons including a CBI sub-inspector for cheating people on the pretext of providing them lucrative jobs abroad. The four have been charged with offences of criminal conspiracy to cheat, abuse of official position and criminal intimidation.

According to the charge sheet, filed in the court of the CBI Special Judge at the Patiala House courts here, Sub-Inspector Leelu Ram and his accomplices, Shyam Mohan, V. P. Arora, who ran a travel agency at Moti Nagar in West Delhi, and Rakesh Sharma, used to lure unemployed persons in the name of providing them good jobs abroad and extracted money from them.

The accused arranged passports, tourist visas and travel tickets for the victims and sent them to nearby countries like Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. The other gang members would seize the travel documents of the victims and take them from one place to the other without providing them the job.

According to the complainant in the case, he was taken to Thailand and Indonesia where he was not provided any job. He somehow managed to return and demanded a refund. When Leelu refused, the victim lodged a complaint and S-I Leelu Ram, and two otherswere arrested.
