Puducherry: Secretary of the Association of Small Industries here K. Parthasarathy said that as the decision to implement VAT had been announced, the government should incorporate "suitable and judicious" measures to eliminate or at least lessen the burdens such as continuation of the Central Sales Tax and incoming consignment transfer tax, outgoing one per cent concessional General Sales Tax on inputs.
