A boost for Banjara community

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: The Government will shortly set up a Banjara development corporation and allocate it adequate funds, Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa told representatives of the community who called on him on Wednesday. They were led by Banjara community leader and Congress MLC Prakash Rathod.

Prior to the presentation of State Budget, the community had urged the Deputy Chief Minister to allocate funds to the corporation. Representatives of the community called on Mr. Yediyurappa since there was no mention of it in the Budget. Mr. Rathod told presspersons that a fast unto death would be launched in front of the residences of Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and Mr. Yediyurappa if the corporation was not set up before April 10.
