Tributes paid to NTR on TDP foundation day

Rallies, poor feeding and meetings organised in Anatapur and Kurnool districts

ANANTAPUR: Telugu Desam leaders and activists paid rich tributes to party founder N.T. Rama Rao on the occasion of 25 years of the party's foundation on Thursday. They garlanded the statues and portraits of the party founder all over the district.

Party flags were hoisted by the leaders in party offices in constituency headquarters and important mandal headquarters. In Anantapur, a large number of party leaders reached the NTR statue in front of the Arts College and garlanded it. Later, the party leaders paid floral tributes to a portrait of NTR in the district office and hoisted the party flag.

Kurnool staf Reporter writes: The TDP foundation day was marked by rallies, poor-feeding and meetings. The party's district president Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy hoisted the party flag at the office at Gayatri Estate and took part in a rally to the statue of NTR at the collectorate.

After garlanding the statue, Mr. Reddy told the gathering that the birth of TDP as a political party was a historical event. Rama Rao had established the party for the emancipation of the poor with slogan of food, shelter and clothing to all.

TDP men's victory

He said the victory of TDP candidates in the Council elections was a pointer to the political developments in the offing and change in people's mindset. Party leaders -- A. Ramkrishna, B. Ananthaiah, S. Venkateswarlu, B. Venkatramudu-- and others were present. Later, poor feeding was arranged at Vasavi Nagar in the city for nearly a thousand people.
