ANANTAPUR: An all-party committee staged a rasta roko on the Gooty-Guntakal road at Pathakotha Cheruvu village in Guntakal rural mandal on Thursday for two hours, alleging police brutality against villagers of Pathakotha Cheruvu and Kasapuram in the name of `counselling'. People of the two villages, who were earlier involved in clashes and village-level feuds, were summoned by Gutakal DSP K.V. Mohan Rao on Tuesday and were allegedly beaten up. The villagers, who were summoned by the police, returned to their homes on Wednesday morning with bruises.
