HASSAN: As many as 12,626 students appeared for the PU examination here on Thursday. According to Deputy Director of the Department for PU Education P.K. Bhavani, they included 7,179 girls and 5,447 boys. There were 4,941 girls and 3,519 boys in the arts section, 1,451 girls and 1,242 boys in the science section, and 787 girls and 686 boys in the commerce section. Ms. Bhavani said 27 examination centres had been set up in the district, of which 12 had been identified as sensitive.
