BELLARY: The district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed a new team of office-bearers, with G. Somashekar Reddy as president, for the next two years.

Mr. Reddy replaces his brother and suspended BJP MLC, G. Janardhan Reddy.

Bharamanagowda of Hospet, G. Umesh of Kudligi, Srinivas of Sandur, and Siddaramanagouda of Sirguppa have been appointed as vice-presidents.

Mrutyunjaya Jinaga has been appointed Organising General Secretary, and A. Thimmareddy (Sirguppa) and Guttiganur Virupakshagowda as the general secretaries.

The other office-bearers include Devaramane Shivacharan (Kottur), S. Thimmappa (Tekkalakote), Doodanayak (Hadagali) and Devanna (Bellary) as secretaries; and Sadhana Hiremath as treasurer.

Shivaram Reddy, Venkat Mahipal, Doddanagowda, Pompapati Shetty, Ganad Lingappa, Tindappa, Harshavardhan, Ramachandraiah and Kalgudi Manjunath are special invitees. The presidents and vice-presidents of its morchas are G. Nagendra and Manjunath for the Yuva Morcha); Padmavati Yadav and Vijayalakshmi for the Mahila Morcha; Karibasappa Vaddatti and Gavisiddappa for the Raitha Morcha; Hanumanthappa Raravi and Omkarappa for the Scheduled Tribe Morcha; Satish Chakravarthi and V. Nagabhushan for the Scheduled Caste Morcha; and M. Bashusaheb and Mohammed Yusuf for the Minority Morcha.
