CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Power Generation Corporation (HPGCL) has set a record for minimum consumption of specific oil, coal and auxiliary in power generation during the current financial year, according to Financial Commissioner and State Principal Secretary (Power) Ashok Lavasa. Presiding over a meeting of the board of directors of the Corporation here on Thursday, he said the specific oil consumption of thermal power stations of HPGCL had come down to 1.84 ml per unit as compared to 3.89 ml per unit during the corresponding period of last year. Similarly, the specific coal consumption had come down to 721 gm per unit as compared to 743 gm per unit in the last year. The auxiliary consumption had also been brought down to a record low of 9.76 per cent since the formation of HPGCL, he added.
