Special Correspondent
Puducherry: A piquant situation has arisen as the administration here has declared that Saturday will be a working day for all offices and departments as it is the closing day of the current financial year. Nothing can be postponed since April 1 marks the beginning of the next financial year. But bandh has been called by political parties for Saturday to oppose the Supreme Court order. The Government staff will not be able to get transport facilities. No employees can be absent as it is a crucial working day for all departments. Some staff said that they would use bicycles to reach their workplaces and avoid two wheelers, which they normally use. Some of the organisations that have scheduled to hold welfare programmes also put off the events.
