Two more held in iron balls seizure case

CHENNAI:
The `Q' Branch police on Thursday arrested two more persons in connection with the seizure of iron balls from a house at Perambalur here recently.
An officer of the special unit gave their names as Ramachandran (24) of Trisoolam and Sukumar (38) of Porur.
Earlier, 12 persons had been arrested. Based on the information provided by Ramachandran, Sukumar was arrested. Both were remanded to custody.
The official said nearly 4.5 tonnes of iron balls were stored in a godown at Alwar Thirunagar.
Later, the consignment, meant for Sri Lanka, was transported to Perambalur in a truck and kept in the house of Ramesh Kumar, who surrendered before a city magistrate recently.
