Ramachandra Gowda gets threat letter

BANGALORE: Leader of the House D.H. Shankaramurthy told the Legislative Council on Friday that the Government would provide security to Minister for Small Savings and Lotteries Ramachandra Gowda, if the Minister made a request. The Minister had received an anonymous letter threatening him and his family of dire consequences if the ban on lotteries was not withdrawn.

Intervening in the discussion on the Budget, M.P. Nadagouda (JD-U) drew the attention of the House to the matter. Members, cutting across party lines, urged the Government to take action to identify the perpetrators
