COIMBATORE: A seminar on the theme "Ahimsa for Global Peace and Harmony" will be organised here on April 1 as part of Mahaveer Jayanthi celebrations. The programme will be conducted by the organisations Shree Rajasthan Jain Swetamber Murthi Pujak Sangh, Shree SCS Sthanakvasi Jain Sangh, Shree Jain Swetamber Terapanth Sabha, Shree Coimbatore Jain Murthi Pujak Sangh, Shree Coimbatore Digambar Jain Mandal Trust, Mahaveer International and Bharathi Institute of Rural and Tribal Development.
Sessions
Sessions will be held on the subject of non-violence in today's world and the theme of reflections of Mahaveer in the words of Thiruvalluvar. The General Secretary of Research Foundation of Jainology, Thirukural Krishnachandd Chordia, will inaugurate the seminar being organised as part of the celebrations. D. Amarchand, who is the former registrar and head in charge, Department of Jainology, University of Madras, will be the chief guest at the seminar. The programme will be held at Terapanth Jain Bhawan.
