NAAC adopts new methodology

Special Correspondent

Bangalore: A new and more rigorous method of assessment and accreditation will be introduced by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with effect from Sunday. In the new system, there will be a "shift from the existing nine point system to a three point grade in assessment and accreditation of higher educational institutions in the country", the release says. A cumulative grade point average (CGPA) on a four-point scale is used instead of numerical scores. For details on the new methodology is available on the NAAC website: www.naacindia.org.
