Sports facility in villages

CUDDALORE:
District Collector Rajendra Ratnoo declared open a sports facility created at a cost of Rs.1.50 lakh in the B. Mutlur Government Higher Secondary School near here on Friday.
Superintendent of Police Pradip Kumar and Assistant Superintendent of Police K.A. Senthilvelan also participated. The Collector said under the Anna Marumalarchi Thittam playground and sports articles would be provided to 15 schools in the district at a cost of Rs 1.50 lakh each.
Besides these, community playgrounds would be set up at a cost of Rs.1 lakh each in 121 villages. The B. Mutlur facility was the first of its kind in the district.
The scheme was focusing on identifying talents in rural areas and nurturing them. He called upon the students and the rural youths to form groups or clubs to fully utilise these facilities.
