Six-wicket win for Canara Bank

Bangalore: B. Rajshekar's 51 guided Canara Bank to a six-wicket victory over Syndicate Bank in a KSCA Group II, first division league cricket match recently. Syndicate Bank scored 167 and Canara Bank reached the target in 27.2 overs.

The scores: Syndicate Bank 167 in 46 overs lost to Canara Bank 168 for four in 27.2 overs (B. Rajshekar 51).

AGORC 295 for two in 49 overs (Basavaraj 133 not out, K.V. Krishna Murthy 55, Sunil Kumar 40) drew with BEML (2) SC (Mysore) 260 for two in 47 overs (Murali Mohan 110 not out, Guru Pradasad 55, C.K. Muralidharan 51).

Central Exercise and Customs 291 for four in 60 overs (Devraj Patil 62, Sachin 89, Girish Rao 76 not out) drew with DTDC SC 166 for four in 33 overs (Anirudha Joshi 57, C.S. Yathiraj 56).

KSFSB 99 in 35.5 overs (Syed Nooruddin four for 10) lost to SBM 101 for one in 12.1 overs (Vijay Madyalkar 51).

Bengre team in last four

At Mangalore, Bengre Vidyarthi Sangha (Bengre) entered the semifinals of the Olympian Sanjiva K. Uchil memorial tournament with a 4-3 quarterfinal win in tie-breaker over Jenifa FC (Ullal) on Saturday. Both teams were goalless at the end of the full time.

Training programme

At Mysore, the Department of Physical Education, University of Mysore, in association with DYSS, Mysore, will organise a 10-day training programme for sportspersons above-10 years from the third week of April in athletics, basketball, cricket, gymnastics, hockey, kabaddi, kho-kho, football, wrestling, volleyball and badminton.

Applications will be available at the Dept. of Physical Education Office from April 2 and the last date is April 11.
