BERHAMPUR: The Ganjam Bar Association has sought shifting of the second Motor Accident Claim Tribunal (MACT) court to the Berhampur Civil Court premises. At present, the second MACT court is functioning in a rented house at a distance of more than two km from the civil court. According to secretary of the association Manoj Patnaik, since 2003 the Principal District Judge along with two other additional district judges has been taking up MACT cases too. But, some 50 per cent of the accident claim cases are being tried at the MACT court outside the court campus, causing problem for advocates and public.
