Kingston/London: With no breakthrough in the investigation so far, the Jamaican Police has now sought the help of more detectives from Scotland Yard to arrest those who killed Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer in Kingston 13 days ago. The team of detectives was expected to reach Kingston early next week as the probe into the sensational murder has so far yielded few leads on how or why the 58-year-old former England cricketer was strangled in his 12th floor hotel room. Jamaica's National Security Ministry and the Police Commissioner requested Scotland Yard to review the case, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mark Shields said. ``They will be looking to see if there is anything else we can do. We know when you are involved in any piece of work and you are right up against it, sometimes you may miss the most blindingly obvious,'' he said. Mr. Shields said though no lines of inquiry could be ruled out, so far, detectives have failed to uncover any evidence of links to match-fixing. The immediate priority was to try and track down everyone who had visited or stayed at the Pegasus Hotel in the 72 hours before Woolmer's murder.
39 statements collected
Investigators have collected at least 39 statements from persons who were on the 12th floor, where Woolmer's body was discovered in a room on March 18, hours after Pakistan's shock defeat at the hands of Ireland.
