HYDERABAD: Participants at a three-day national workshop on `Empowering panchayats: issues and strategies' have taken a pledge to soon launch a national-level campaign for effective implementation of 73rd amendment to the Constitution.

Drawn from 12 States, the participants deliberated on various aspects of Panchayat Raj system and adopted ten resolutions at the workshop organised by the Centre for World Solidarity. These include immediate elections to Panchayat Raj institutions in Jharkhand.
