NIZAMABAD: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sarangapur Battalion (110 BN), under its civic action programme organised a mega medical and health camp at Chandur village of Varni mandal on Saturday. A large number of people bean queuing up before the camp since morning. Nearly 1,800 people, including a number of women and children suffering from various diseases, were examined by a panel of Government doctors. Medicines worth about Rs.50,000 were distributed to patients free.
Annual affair
Speaking on the occasion, CRPF Commandant N. Siva Sankar said his police force was conducting such health camps every year. Besides national security, the welfare of people and their health was also important to the CRPF, he said and added that it proved its commitment for service through the medical camp. The Indian Medical Association former secretary S. Prakash, doctors Sudheer Goud, Sumanth, Madan Mohan and Vijaykumar examined the patients. Among those who were present included Sangam Arun Jyothi, village sarpanch and the Varni MPP president Srinivas Goud. Later in the day, the CRPF personnel distributed sports kits to youth clubs at Darpally mandal headquarters.
