Air and sea search for Sri Lankan boat

Staff Reporter

Chennai: The Navy and Coast Guard launched an extensive air and sea search on Friday and Saturday for a Sri Lankan boat which reportedly opened fire on the Indian fishing boat, `Red Sun.'

Pilots reported very little fishing activity in the area and no sign of the Sri Lankan boat, H. Saxena, Commander, Duty Staff Officer for Commanding Officer, said.

The bodies of the two fishermen are still not traceable.

The area was being kept under surveillance and another air search was planned on Sunday morning, Mr. Saxena said.
