President of advocates' body

D.V. Seetha Rama Murthy was elected president of the Andhra Pradesh High Court Advocates Association in a keenly contested election. The elections were held on Friday in which Jalli Kanakiah was elected as vice-president. M.V. Suresh and Sampath Kumar were elected as secretaries. The treasurer elect is Gani Reddy and Dr. Satyanarayana was elected as joint secretary.

Summer special trains

The South Central Railway will run 58 weekly summer special trains between Secunderabad and Rajkot, Secunderabad and Bikaner, Kakinada Town and Tirupati to clear the extra rush of traffic during the ensuing summer season from April 10 to June 21. This will be in addition to the 98 summer special trains announced earlier, according to a statement issued here on Friday.

Vocational courses

Literacy House, Andhra Mahila Sabha is offering training to women in vocational programmes. The training will be given in tailoring, embroidery, lace work, loom work and drawing (Grade I and II), according to Literacy House secretary Sitarambai. For more details contact Ph. Salary dues payment

The Director of School Education has released over Rs.1.08 crores as grant towards payment of salary dues of aided primary school teachers in the State. The dues are for 2006-07, the Andhra Pradesh State Teachers' Union announced in a press release on Saturday.
